Hey everyone,
So now that everyone is done celebrating the killing of Osama Bin Laden (see previous blog), people are becoming more and more conscious that this may just be a stunt pulled off by Barrack Obama to secure his re-election as President of the United States. Except maybe of course the hardcore "gullibles" in this world.
The one thing everyone wants to see is a picture of his dead body. According to the latest news headlines the American governemt are "weighing out the pros and cons of releasing the image of Bin Laden's body". Now to me it seems like this shouldn't even be "weighed out". To stop all confusion in the world about whether or not this whole thing is true, all they have to do is show a picture!
One image was released of Obama and crew in the situation room.
This seems real enough. Clinton with a hand covering her mouth expressing shock. Obama with a very serious look on his face. This image, I can bet on it, has been released to convince us all. Weak Washington, very weak.
Until I see an image of the body I will never bee 100% convinced that Bin Laden is dead.
What do you guys think of this whole ordeal. Should there be an image shown (with some DNA results as extra proof), or is it ok to just accept the word of the President? Let me know!

Well, one reason for not releasing an image seems to be instant martyrdom. His supporters would be all over that image - it'd be used for every kind of propaganda and recruitment material, I'd imagine. After all these years, I'd even be skeptical of photographic "evidence". Even before the wonders of Photoshop, this stuff could be easily edited together. DNA seems to be the only conclusive way. But it doesn't give me much hope. Considering so many Americans reject evolution, even though it has mountains of evidence in it's favour, I doubt they'd be able to tell the difference between true and false anyway.
ReplyDeleteOverall, I can't see this being a stunt Obama would pull... It's not his style, he's too clever to lower himself to that, you know? At least, I'd like to think he is. If it were true that he lied, I'd be more disappointed in him rather than Osama still being alive.
